Tsunami Hour

Artstation (Now Studio One Toi Tū), Cellblock, 1 Ponsonby Rd, Auckland

Tsunami Hour is a body of work that deals with my experience of a devastating Tsunami in my home town. It is my direct and personal response to the 2004 Boxing day Tsunami that took my mother's life and over 170,000 lives in my hometown Aceh, Indonesia. It depicts coastal scenes and aspects of daily life in Aceh, drawing on the province's cultural diversity, religion and the strong values around family and friendship that exist within local community.
